Jollibee Chickenjoy Toronto

Jollibee fans, rejoice. went to visit the location of Toronto’s very first Jollibee and we’re very happy to report that everything is on track for a March 25 opening. It took them nearly five years since the first news came out, but it looks like that you’ll soon be able to eat Jollibee Chickenjoy in Toronto. It just might not be called Chickenjoy.

Jollibee Chickenjoy Toronto
Jollibee’s management team arrive onsite to check out the progress being made by staff at their very first location in Toronto, Ontario.

According to a crew member we met with outside of the construction site, they are currently undergoing training in preparation for the grand opening. Many of their crew have years of food service industry experience, with quite a few being Jollibee veterans from across the world.

Speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the matter, our source says that Chickenjoy might not be called that in Ontario.

“There seems to have been someone here in Toronto who beat us to it,” he stated. Our source was referring to Chick-N-Joy, a Toronto-based family restaurant operating since 1977. “Rather than get involved in a lengthy and costly lawsuit, we’re going to have to call it something more generic, unfortunately. Expect it to be called crispy chicken, different name, same great Chickenjoy taste.”

We never thought of it as such, but Kennedy Commons pretty much has everything already: a liquor store, a grocery, a bookstore, a bank and a coffeeshop. They used to have movie theatres but it’s okay. They’re about to have a Jollibee. got a quick look, and we can confirm that the menu is up, and it looks like it will follow the same pricing scheme that they’re using in Manitoba.

The best part of it? Peach Mango Pies will be available on opening day.
