Canada announces expansion of cattle exports to the Philippines

The Government of Canada‘s agricultural agency, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, recently announced new market access for Canadian cattle exports to the Philippines.

According to Ag-Canada, live cattle exports to the Philippines are valued at over CAD$8 million.

The expanded cattle exports to the Philippines will be beneficial to Canadian farmers, Ag-Canada said.

Countries like the Philippines look to import live cattle from Canada to improve the genetic base of their own local livestock.

The Government of Canada’s efforts at improving trade relations with other countries like the Philippines will benefit Canadians working in the agricultural sector.

The Government of Canada is currently working towards reaching a target of CAD$75 billion in agricultural exports by 2025.
