Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo will be attending the 13th Toronto Global Forum at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

In a statement released by the Office of the Vice President prior to Robredo’s departure from the Philippines, she was “invited to speak in the event by the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA), which aims to cultivate a culture of information-sharing and promote open discussions on major economic issues among government leaders, the private sector, international organizations, and civil society.”

The statement goes on to say that Robredo was “expected to share her views regarding the importance of fostering broader gender inclusion for economic growth.”

The 13th edition of the Toronto Global Forum is presented by the International Economic Forum of the Americas, and will run from September 4 to September 6, 2019 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

The opening address will be at the Canadian Room of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel at 8:30am on Thursday, September 5.

Robredo will be introduced by Michael Thompson, Deputy Mayor of the City of Toronto, and the Chair of the Economic and Community Development Committee.

The Fairmont Royal York Hotel is located on Front St., in the Financial District of Downtown Toronto.

Funding for the Fairmont Royal York was provided by the Canadian Pacific Railway. It is currently managed by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.

The Fairmont Royal York Hotel was the tallest building in the British empire from 1929 to 1931, until the completion of the Canadian Bank of Commerce Tower.

The hotel’s architectural style is Châteauesque, based on French Renaissance architecture from the late fifteenth century.

There is an underground walkway linking the hotel to the Royal Bank Plaza and Union Station. The walkway is part of the PATH system.

Based in Montreal, Quebec, the International Economic Forum of the Americas was formed to promote an exchange of views and perspectives on pressing economic matters.

The International Economic Forum of the Americas gathers over 9,700 delegates and 540 speakers in four conferences throughout the year in Montreal, Toronto, Miami and Paris.
