Guia Gomez Castro is wanted by Philippine authorities.

Alleged drug queen Guia Gomez Castro has been placed on an immigration watchlist. Records indicate that Castro boarded a flight from Vancouver, BC before arriving in Manila.

WHO IS GUIA GOMEZ CASTRO?

Castro was the Barangay chairperson for Barangay 484 Zone 48 in Manila. She is currently wanted in connection to an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs in the Philippines.

PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT STILL WORKING AT CANCELLING CASTRO’S PASSPORT

Philippine politicians have called on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to cancel Castro’s Philippine passport, citing national security.

Senator Franklin Drilon labelled Castro as a fugitive from justice, and urged DFA officials to cancel her passport.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is still trying to figure out if there are any pending cases against Castro.

WHAT IS GUIA GOMEZ CASTRO ACCUSED OF?

Castro is accused of working with police officers called by Philippine media as “ninja cops”.

It is alleged that Castro would have police officers give illegal drugs confiscated during raids to her for resale on the black market.

She was reported to have amassed wealth and influence from the resale of the illegal drugs, evading capture with the help of policemen on her payroll.

Castro has denied the allegations.

PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT ASKING FOR HELP FROM INTERPOL

Castro arrived in the Philippines from Canada on September 18, and left for Thailand a few days later.

Philippine government officials will be making a request to the International Police (INTERPOL) to help locate Castro.

Philippine immigration officials could not prevent Castro from travelling to Thailand because there wasn’t a court order preventing her departure.

It is unknown if there are any pending criminal cases against Castro.
