On the night of January 20, things were different.

“She looked scared and she was looking straight into my eyes,” Jeresano said. The young lady was walking hurriedly away from a nearby parked vehicle.

Jeresano stopped the bus and opened the door, letting the female student in.

“She told me that they were trying to get her inside the car,” Jeresano said.

GUELPH POLICE INVESTIGATING INCIDENT, THANKED BY STUDENT’S FAMILY

Guelph police are investigating the incident.

Jeresano didn’t think he did anything special, but did mention that he was a new dad, and that the incident only hit him when he got home to his family.

“I said ‘what if that was my daughter?’ I just hope someone would do the same thing,” Jeresano said.

The female student’s mother reached out to Metrolinx to find Jeresano.

“If it wasn’t for this amazing human being, and his quick reaction, I don’t even want to think what would have happened to my daughter. I can’t stress enough how much appreciation I have for this kind soul,” the female student’s mother said.
